PRIVACY POLICY
Ron Spomer Outdoors ("RSO," "we," or "us") believes your privacy is very important. This policy applies to both of our websites: Ronspomeroutdoors.com, including the RSO TV members area, and our course site, ronspomeroutdoors.courses. It explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
WHAT WE COLLECT
- Information you give us: your name, email address, and billing details when you make a purchase or join RSO TV; your shipping address when you order a physical product; your account login; and the contents of any message you send us.
- Payment information: payments on our course site are processed by Stripe; payments on Ronspomeroutdoors.com are processed through Squarespace's checkout or, if you choose it, PayPal. RSO does not receive or store your full card number.
- Course and membership activity: which courses or memberships you have access to, when you log in, and which lessons or videos you have viewed.
- Automatically collected information: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and pages visited, collected through cookies, server logs, and similar technologies by our website providers and by Google Analytics on both of our sites.
HOW WE USE IT
We use your information to complete your purchase, give you access to your course or membership, provide support, send you information about the course you bought, understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
If you opt in, we also send marketing emails about RSO courses, content, and offers. You must separately sign up for our mailing list — we do not add you automatically when you make a purchase or send us a message. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
SERVICE PROVIDERS WE USE
We share information only with the providers who help us run the business:
- Squarespace hosts Ronspomeroutdoors.com, including the RSO TV members area, manages member accounts, and processes store and membership purchases made there.
- PayPal processes payments on Ronspomeroutdoors.com when you choose to pay with PayPal.
- Podia hosts our course site, ronspomeroutdoors.courses, and manages customer accounts, course access, and order records.
- Stripe processes payments on our course site.
- Google Analytics measures how Ronspomeroutdoors.com and ronspomeroutdoors.courses are used. It collects your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you visit. You can opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- EmailOctopus sends our newsletters and course emails and stores the name and email address you provide.
- YouTube and Google serve videos embedded in our sites. When a video loads or plays, Google may set cookies and receive information about your visit.
- Vimeo hosts and streams our course videos and RSO TV videos. When a video loads or plays, Vimeo may set cookies and receive information about your visit.
- The Amazon Associates program is how affiliate links on our site work. When you click one, Amazon may set a cookie to attribute a purchase. Your activity on Amazon is governed by Amazon's privacy notice, not ours.
- Content delivery networks and site plugins deliver scripts, fonts, and page features. These currently include Squarespace's CDN, Square Websites, Adlytic Marketing, Font Awesome, Cloudflare, and Google Hosted Libraries. To deliver those files they receive your IP address and browser information.
These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone outside the providers listed above.
COOKIES
Our sites use cookies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, understand how the site is used, and support affiliate links. When you first visit, we show a cookie notice. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though some features will not work properly if you block them.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep purchase and account records for as long as you have access to a course or membership, and afterward as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. If you are on our mailing list, we store your email address until you ask to be removed. Google Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or opt out of certain uses. If you would like your personal data disposed of, or you have any other question about this policy, email courses@ronspomeroutdoors.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
CHILDREN
Our courses and memberships are sold to adults, and you must be 18 or older to purchase. RSO does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under thirteen, please do not use our sites or provide us any information. If you are a parent and believe your child has given us information, email courses@ronspomeroutdoors.com and we will delete it. If you are under 18, you may use our sites only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
CHANGES
We may update this policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date.
